Bio: Dreamwind Band What is Dreamwind: Dreamwind is an electronic ambient band from Birmingham, Alabama. Personnel: Rick Bales, keyboards, Andy Douglas, keyboards and Ray Whirlwind, bass guitar. Discs: "Nightlight", "Warp Date", “Ambient Trails” and “Seventh Phase”. The CDs are available at www.cdbaby.com/dreamwind. Also, in 2006, the band released three MP3 CDs, “Past Years on MP3”, “Later Years on MP3”, and “Present Years on MP3”, also available at www.cdbaby.com/dreamwind6 with about 100 mp3 songs on each disc. Relating to the music: The music is electronic ambient with a touch of space rock, jazz and techno. The band says most people who have heard their music say it is relaxing. Some have told them that they like to listen to the CDs as background music or that they take it along for long driving trips. Band in making: The band formed in July of 2000. Whirlwind and Douglas have known one another since the 1970s when they both played in rock bands. Douglas and Bales met in 2000 at a music store. After a few jam sessions, the musicians decided to form the group. Genre: All Original Instrumental/Electronic Ambient/Jazz/Space/New Age music.
